Wilde,

Born To Rock N Roll - The Greatest Hits - album due March 5th on

"I remember when Marty Wilde, Dickie Pride and I were 'three cool
cats'.
I always thought in those days there was actually only one 'cool
cat' -
and that was Marty. Stay cool! Happy 50th!!
All the best, mate"
Cliff Richard.
"Marty Wilde was one of possibly two or three singers in the UK who
actually could capture the American art... His vocal performances on
track 'Johnny Rocco', 'Endless Sleep', 'Bad Boy' and especially
'Tomorrow's Clown' were performances which exceeded any other
English
Rock and Roll singer..." Robert Plant
"Why did the best musicians of the time want to play with Marty?
Because he had that cool credibility that many of the others lacked,
and
he was a great musician too. Check out the Wildcats, what a
backing
band! I'm still in awe of him. He's is one of the true British Rock
Heroes". Justin Hayward
"Over half a century his career has continued to flourish, as
composer
and exciting live performer. Marty Wilde is one of my heroes." Tim
Rice
Singer, songwriter, legend - Marty Wilde, will celebrate his 50th
anniversary in the music business, with the release of Born To Rock
N'
Roll - The Greatest Hits - a sublime collection of all Marty's best
known tracks, with the addition of a brand new recording of the
title
track and an exclusive duet with his daughter Kim Wilde. This
definitive
collection will be released by UMTV on March 5th.
Wilde, one of the first original British Rock N' Roll pioneers
enjoyed
countless hits in the late 50s and early 60s, with thirteen
consecutive
hit records staying in the charts for a total of 117 weeks!
His
greatest hits, showcased here include Endless Sleep, Donna, Sea Of
Love
and A Teenager In Love, all sure to fulfil even the hungriest of
nostalgic fans. As an added bonus, the collection also contains a
brand
new recording of the title track, Born To Rock N Roll, recorded this
year, plus two duets; Leaving It All Up To You (with daughter
Roxanne
Wilde), and a new interpretation of Elton John's epic Sorry Seems To
Be
The Hardest Word, with 80s pop star, daughter Kim, most famous for
her
anthemic tracks such as Kids In America.
As one of the original British rock singers in the late 50s (along
with
Tommy Steele and Cliff Richard), Wilde enjoyed other success as a
songwriter in the late 60s and early 70s, penning hits for Lulu (I'm
A
Tiger), the mighty Status Quo (Ice In The Sun) and Jezamine for the
Casuals (of which a live version from Wilde himself appears on the
album). The 80s, saw Wilde continue writing, this time for his
daughter
Kim, who enjoyed a string of successful hits both in the UK and
abroad.
Wilde's 50th anniversary celebration will also include an extensive
nationwide tour starting Sunday April 8th in Northampton with his
long
standing band, The Wildcats, and will also be joined by daughter
Roxanne
Wilde. The 32 date Born To Rock N Roll tour will see Marty sweeping
across the country, including a special show at London's Palladium
on
May 27th where he is set to be joined by a stellar line up of
guests -
